Gabriel Chen

Gabriel Chen is a graduate student at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign majors in Computer Science, and their study focuses on Computer Security Theory with an emphasis on Cybersecurity. They hold Cybersecurity Analyst Professional Certificate from IBM, and GFACT, GSEC for GIAC. During the current school year (2021 - 2022), Gabriel is a WiCyS Security Training Scholarship recipient founded by Google, Bloomberg, and Meta at SANS Institute.

Research Interests: Defensible System Security Architecture Design, Network and Information Transmission Security.

During year 2022 - 2023, Gabriel serves as the Vice Chair of ISOC Cybersecurity SIG.

Gabriel finished their undergraduate Computer Science journey at UC Berkeley, and they spent some time working with Chris Umans at Caltech on Catalytic Turing Machines before going to graduate school.

When Gabriel is not working, you might find them painting in woods, surfing on the Pacific Ocean, or hunting with their bow.
